<p><strong>You heard that right. I finally passed the 300 test.</strong></p>
<p><strong>I have finally made it into the Spartan Army even though I am still no Leonidas.</strong> I am probably at the rank of toilet cleaner or something like that. I am still super stoked that I made it. I got through the entire thing in 27 minutes. I actually got most of the workout done in 20 minutes but the last pullups took me the remaining 7 minutes to finish&#8230; it was slow, painful and torturous.</p>
<p>SoG Spartan Goal #1 &#8211; Complete the 300 test in under 30 minutes &#8211; <strong>DONE!</strong><br />

<p><strong>I almost went the distance this time.</strong> I was SO close. In 30 minutes, I completed 295 reps. So close yet so far. I am confident that next time around, I will get all 300 reps in. Then it is time to start working on getting the time down!</p>

<p>I added a blanket cape (way too thick)&#8230; and changed the broom to a spear this time (with a little paint help)!</p>
<p><strong>I tried the workout <a href="http://www.sonofgrok.com/2008/11/todays-workout-the-300-test/">before</a> with little success.</strong> I thought I would do this again and see if my training over the past month had made me a better spartan at all.</p>
<p><strong>The result?</strong> While I may be getting better (maybe they would not chuck me to the wolves), I am still no Leonidas! lol.</p>
<p>This time, I got much further in my 30 minute time frame. I am still a long way from achieving the 20 minute time goal set for the challenge. This really is one heck of a challenge. I recommend that everyone give it a try when they feel up to it.</p>

<p><strong>Today I learned that I am definitely no Spartan.</strong></p>
<p>Marc over at <a href="http://www.feelgoodeating.blogspot.com/">Feel Good Eating</a> convinced me to do the 300 workout/test of Gym Jones fame.</p>
<p>This was a heck of a workout. The entire program is supposed to be completed within 20 minutes. It took me 30 minutes and I did not even compete all of the reps. The 30 minutes includes the time that I had to run to the bathroom and dry heave somewhere around the box jumps portion. I would definitely recommend this as a fun test for anyone but probably not as a regular workout. I also used 100#&#8217;s on the deadlifts and the floor wipers instead of the recommended 135#. I am going to train hard and try this one again in about a month to see if I have made any progress.</p>
<p>Oh yeah, and the goofy pics are just for fun!</p>
