Its been a while since I cleared out the picture archive so I thought I would do another photo post for some entertainment until I get my next post up.
I like to post periodic pictures of myself to show that I haven’t fallen off the wagon and primal is still really working for me. I just snapped these two quick pics (got too much sun this weekend). Terrible I know, but I haven’t really been working out much or trying to hard and still look pretty decent if you ask me!
On to the food pics!

SOG, please post recipes!!!
I’m a month into the paleo/primal eating. I’ve used quite a few of your recipes and they’ve helped me A LOT. More recipes would be much appreciated.

Wow nice flexing pic. Your abs look as great as ever. Not that your arms and pecs are slacking or anything, but females are drawn right to the flat abs.
Got to have the enchilada recipe, dude!
You seriously fried your skin. Not sure if it hurts or not. Try steeping tea bags (regular cheapo ones) as if you are going to make tea, but then put the cup, water, and bags in the refrigerator and let them get cold. Put these on your sunburn as a soft compress. The tanins in the tea take the soreness out. I got aweful burns behind my knees and down my calves once and this was the only thing that brought relief. The other stuff with lidocaine stops working and the aloe gel just gets sticky.

Those coconut cheeseballs look pretty interesting. I love coconut and I love cheese but it never occurred to me to put the two together. How’d they turn out?
August 11th, 2009 - 10:21 pm
I think that’s one of the great points about Primal. . .even if you’re not able to try really hard for a bit, the healthy foundation is still there. And you’re the proof!
Seriously, you have to post the recipes!
August 12th, 2009 - 11:21 am
I would also love some of the recipes! enchiladas and pizza?
August 12th, 2009 - 6:59 pm
Darcie, the pizza recipe is posted but I think Son Of Grok outsourced it to another website, so you gotta search the internet for it. I need to stop being lazy and make one myself, however trying to cut back on cost right now I’m on a meat and veggies only kick for a while.
I’d love to learn more about the Enchiladas as well. I know how to make the chile and stuff, but just wanna know what you did instead of tortillas.

Wow, Overwhelming response for some new recipes! I guess I better get on that.

FYI to those looking for primal pizza. You can check in my recipes or google “sog primal pizza”. The recipe was actually a guest post on Marks Daily Apple.
August 13th, 2009 - 2:56 pm
Here’s the link, I kept trying to post it yesterday but for some reason it wouldn’t let me. Let’s see if it works now.

Looking good!
The food looks nice too…..
Sorry couldn’t resist that one! Trouble is those pics have made me hungry now. What is “Awesome blossom”…??
August 15th, 2009 - 8:19 am
Awesome Blossom is a battered and deep fried onion that’s been cut into strips almost all the way through. Most of the steak houses serve them as appetizers.
August 16th, 2009 - 5:48 pm
Mmmm…. *drool*
Where are you hiding the recipe for those delicious looking enceladas??? And awesome blossom!!? It’s an emergency! Pregnant lady’s got to know!

Pictures, schmictures! We want the recipes!
August 29th, 2009 - 6:36 pm
That pizza looks very different than the one pictured at Mark’s Daily Apple. Is it crustless or something? Or does it still have the almond flour crust?
September 27th, 2009 - 1:45 am
Hey SoG,
You look geat! All that without *trying to hard* as you put it? Hubby and I are embarking on the journey and I am excited since I know I feel better (him too) when we do lowcarb with only sporadic dairy. The pla is to wean out what we have with artificial sweetener (mostly stevia) and a few odds and ends and be 100% primal by or before January 1st…..I didn’t want to freak hubby out with a goal too soon but I am pretty sure we will be there by November 1st or before! Would so love to have your recipe for the Primal BBQ Sauce and Sweet Potato Fries as well as the Primal Awesome Blossom! Hope your hunting excursion has gone well and you have captured & eaten by now
September 29th, 2009 - 5:01 pm
catatoniceyes,
The recipe for the BBQ sauce is in my recipes on this site. The Fries are just thin-sliced sweet potato fried on coconut oil and then salted. Best of luck in your primal journey!
September 29th, 2009 - 5:02 pm
Ron,
It has a crust. I have started doing a crust that is half and half almond flour and ground coconut. THe original crust on marks site was 100% almond flour.
October 14th, 2009 - 12:22 pm
Thanks SoG. Plan to make the BBQ sauce soon, when feeling better. Did you make the onion blossom with dairy or none?
December 6th, 2009 - 12:58 pm
what kind of oil do you use in your fryer?
December 28th, 2009 - 11:22 am
Waiting for the recipe for the Primal Awesome Blossom… pleeeeeeeeease???? Want to try!
