Hey SoG!

Loved this post! It reminded me of the time a wee 10 years back when I 'had the time' to go climbing every day for hours at this indoor sports venue (living in Scandinavia kinda restricts outdoor activities unless you enjoy cold).

The thing is, it didn't feel like working out even if after it I had a feeling of having had a good workout.

The thing is I love working out but I like having fun even more! :)

Nowadays it's more like I've been working out trying to catch that feelingfrom 10 years back when I had the time and did just what felt good.

Oh yeah, and I noticed that when I used to go climbing I didn't eat that much carbs, it wasn't needed because the pace was slower than what I have at gym.

Epiphanies.... got to love them.

Katie,
Compared to lake powell, Abiqui is a pond. We don't have any of what you would consider a real "lake" around here. New Mexico calls a creek a river and a pond a lake! :-)

I go to Lake Powell a lot... in the summers. LOVE it. All the pictures I have on my facebook are of my brother and I climbing up rocks to jump off.
Do you ever go powell?
Where is the lake you got to?? It looks GREAT for climbing.

Thanks for inviting me to the lake to do this with you guys last weekend! Was so much fun!

I've been making myself work out more the last 2 weeks and surprisingly I'm getting to a point where I don't hate it as much. Maybe because it's gotten a lot easier for me, as I'm approaching a 95 pound weight loss mark.

Angel - this is for u:

A farmer went out one day and bought a brand new stud rooster for his chicken coop. The new rooster struts over to the old rooster and says, 'OK old fart, time for you to retire.' The old rooster replies, 'Come on, surely you cannot handle ALL of these chickens. Look what it has done to me. Can't you just let me have the two old hens over in the corner?'

The young rooster says, ‘Beat it: You are washed up and I am taking over.'
The old rooster says, 'I tell you what, young stud. I will race you around the farmhouse. Whoever wins gets the exclusive domain over the entire chicken coop.'

The young rooster laughs. 'You know you don't stand a chance, old man. So, just to be fair, I will give you a head start.'

The old rooster takes off running. About 15 seconds later the young rooster takes off running after him. They round the front porch of the farmhouse and the young rooster has closed the gap.

He is only about 5 feet behind the old rooster and gaining fast. The farmer, meanwhile, is sitting in his usual spot on the front porch when he sees the roosters running by. The Old Rooster is squawking and running as hard as he can. The Farmer grabs his shotgun and- BOOM - he blows the young rooster to bits. The farmer sadly shakes his head and says,
'Dammit..... third gay rooster I bought this month.'

Moral of this story? ...........

Don't mess with OLD FARTS - age, wisdom, and a little treachery always overcome youth and arrogance!

I did some primal sprinting just a few days ago. Our rooster decided that morning that he was going to show me that he was boss. I chased him around the yard for about a minute to show him otherwise. I hadn't even had breakfast yet, but his attack on my leg got my adrenaline up, and I didn't feel winded or tired after chasing him around, even though I never run.

I have since made a point of harassing him when I am in the chicken pen, or just glaring at him at other times. He fears me. :D
